The diarrhea outbreak  started in Chobe District in June. Dr. Alexander and Mr. Ramotadima survey households in the district villages to better understand who is affected and identify factors influencing diarrheal disease occurance.

Above, Dr. Alexander meets with female-headed households in Kazungula. Traditional knowledge of water and diarrheal disease provide important insight into this disease syndrome etiology and potential management.

News papers in Botswana warn that 18 babies have died from diarrheal disease in Maun over the last two weeks. There have been over 120 cases during this time  (The Ngami Times June 29th, 2012).
